Over the last couple of weeks we have been working through Apeiron Logger updates to improve the users experience. Some features include minor improvements like adding shear vane calibrations to the investigation, and energy ratio fields for SPTs. Others are more substantial like linking the two different types of Apeiron projects together (to read more about this click here). The final type of improvement has been regarding the users data and improving how we keep that data safe, and how we back up the data during offline functionality.
While there has been a lot of work done in the background we also need your help! This guide suggests the best way to create your project and keep your data safe especially if you may be working in a low signal location.
The best way to create your project is on the web. Once you have logged into https://apeiron.infinitystudio.ai/ navigation to Apeiron Logger by clicking on the forth icon on the left hand menu, highlighted in blue. (Alternatively you can go through the Projects List as mention in the Logger Updates Guide)
Once you are in Logger, select the 'Create Logger Project' button and follow the prompts.
You will have the option to create a new project or select an exisiting project that has been created. (Note, if you create a new project you will also need to create a stage to add a Logger Project, see additional details here)
Once you have created your project you can create investigations eon the tablet when out on site by clicking the 'Create Investigation Button' and filling in the required fields.
You can also create investigations prior to going to site, but you will need to 'Download' these investigations so they are available offline if your service drops out. All investigations created on the tablet or phone are automatically downloaded available for offline use
To download investigations open up the project and before selecting the investigation of intrest select more options and then select 'Download for Offline'
Once the investigation has been downloaded the status will change from 'Not downloaded' to 'Downloaded' as shown below
Once you have made change, when you are back online you will be able to sync your investigations and projects. To do this hit the sync button shown at the top of the screen.
As an additional data protection we have added automatic back ups of your data and a manual back up feature. If your sync hasn't worked and you would like to make a manual back up of any data you can open the menu and select 'Backup Offline Data', this will back up the data and you can contact us to look at this data if you have any issues with syncing your data.
If you are in limited service areas we recommend turning off mobile data to avoid any data loss during intermittent service.
If you follow the above guide you have the best chance of a smooth experience with Logger, both online and offline.
