The export template outlined in this guide is intended to help minimise potential mapping issues. Please note that this template and guidance are provided as an additional support resource for our customers and are not part of our core product offering. As such, responsibility for CoreGS export functionality remains with GEROC. Guide
Extract the ZIP file, which contains an abbreviations file and a dictionary file. You will also receive a mapping file. Save all three files in a folder on your PC (preferably a local folder) and ensure they remain in this location, as moving them later may cause issues.
Open the mapping file via the text editor and replace the DICT and ABBR file paths with the paths from the files saved to your PC. Remove the “ at the beginning and end of the path.
Open CoreGS and navigate to the ‘EXTERNAL’ tab, then select ‘AGS Export’.
Enter a unique issue name and specify a producer and recipient (these do not need to be unique). Next, go to the ‘Definition’ tab, select one or more investigations, and choose the file path where you would like the export to be saved. Finally, click the triangle and pencil icon on the right to open the Mapping Manager.
In the Mapping Manager select the ‘Project’ button and add a new mapping via the ‘+’ button. Name the new mapping (description is optional) and click ‘OK’.
Go back to the mapping file you previously opened to update the ABBR and DICT file paths. Copy the entire content of the mapping file and paste it into the new mapping you just created in CoreGS, then click ‘OK’. If you have admin rights in CoreGS you can set the mapping up in the ‘Master’ tab, otherwise you will have to add the mapping to each CoreGS project you’d like to export.
Select the mapping you created from the dropdown menu and click ‘Export’. Once the export is complete, navigate to the folder you selected as the export location and locate your exported file(s).
